for tuba & piano (Durata: 12’). The composer, piano educator and famous piano accompanist from Berlin dedicated the Tuba-Triptychon to Markus Hötzel. The first performance took place in July 2001 on the International Tuba-Festival in Lieksa/Finland.

Zoltán Gárdonyi (1906-1986): Sonate (1948/51)
 

for tuba & piano (Durata: 12’). This original composition was discovered recently in the estate of the Hungarian composer Zoltán Gárdonyi, who was one of the most important students of Paul Hindemith and Zoltán Kodály. The three movement work got its first performance in 1998 - approximately 50 years after the piece was composed - by Markus Hötzel in Dresden. The sonata uses the full possibilities of the sound of the tuba.
