product description
for violin solo, 2 violins, viola, & b.c., edited by Jolando Scarpa after the manuscript of the Sächsische Landesbibliothek Dresden. This concerto is from op. 1, published in Amsterdam in 1738, and displays Brescianello’s characteristic style: the calm flow of the melodies and the dense atmosphere of the middle movements. In spite of his originality, Brescianello remained unrecognized in Italy for a long time. As “Oberkapellmeister” (chief chapel-master) he contributed greatly to the revitalization of Stuttgart’s musical theater. Series Frutti Musicali
