for transverse flute, violin and basso continuo, Re-transcription after the sonata for viola da gamba or violin and obbligato harpsichord, BWV 1028 by Hans Bergmann. Less known is a version of this sonata for violin and obbligato harpsichord. It has come down to us in three manuscript sources. All three sources stem from the same scribe and were made around 1800 – thus long after Bach’s death. Judging from the individual ranges of the parts, the original version was possibly scored for transverse flute, violin, and basso continuo. Edition Offenburg
