product description
GraunWV Av:XV:19 for 2 violins and basso, edited as first edition by Günter and Leonore von Zadow. According to many experts, this trio is one of the most beautiful works (moderate degree of difficulty) by the Graun brothers. This must have been the case in the 18th century as well, since no fewer than seven handwritten copies of this trio have survived. The entries are imitative, and at five full bars, the theme is long and complex with several motivic cells. Not least because of its key of C minor, its chromaticism, and its counterpoint, it ranks alongside the trio from the Musical Offering. Edition Güntersberg
