for recorder in C, published as a first edition by Peter Thalheimer. Siegfried Reda studied under Hugo Distler and Ernst Pepping and worked as an organist and composer in Essen. After the Second World War, he published his first recorder sonata with Bärenreiter and worked closely with Helmut Bornefeld. The serious character of the piece sounds particularly convincing on a soprano recorder and was composed before 1947. NotaBene
