product description
Two Nightingale Arias for soprano [f’ - a’’], sopranino recorder, violin, viola (violin II) & B. c., first edition by Peter Thalheimer. At the age of 13, Andrea Stefano Fiorè published his first opus, 12 trio sonatas, which brought him fame as a child prodigy. A year later, his first opera was performed in his hometown of Milan. After studying with Arcangelo Corelli in Rome, he worked as hofkapellmeister in Turin from 1707 until his death. Santo Lapis came from Bologna. From 1726, he worked as a tenor singer at San Marco in Venice, where he spent the following years composing operas and organising a travelling opera ensemble, with which he travelled as far as Klagenfurt and Prague. After 1740, he lived in Amsterdam and later in London. Series Recorders Library
