product description
and Galliards, Allemandes, Balletts, Courantes, and Canzonas with 3, 4, 5, and 6 voices along with a Basso Continuo, Hamburg 1633, 60 compositions in six volumes edited by Leonore and Günter von Zadow. Schop was director of the highly regarded Hamburg Ratsmusik for 44 years. The instrumentation is not specified. Our edition therefore reproduces the middle voices in both alto and treble clef to make them accessible to both wind and string players, preferably viols. The music is harmonically diverse and always interesting. In solemn pavanes, rhythmically complex galliards, Italian canzonas, and other dance movements, polyphonic and homophonic sections alternate. Edition Güntersberg No. 9–19, four-part, Volume 2
